Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad

Since my time volunteering as the railroads PR/Marketing and Social Media Manager, I have thoroughly enjoyed putting many various videos together for public viewing. Apart from picture and video posting to our Facebook, I also help answer any questions our followers ask, post upcoming events, report our social analytics at the Board of Directors meetings, and even give tours of our roundhouse and locomotives when I am on site.

Sultriscent Soapcraft.

During the quarantine, my sister got into soap making. It wasn’t long before she made so much that it was time to sell it. We would attend various Makers Markets, and I took it upon myself to help make her some social media content at every event, pro bono.

Drone Racing League

Joining DRL in 2019 right out of college, has and will always be an amazing chapter of my life. Jumping into the world of post-production television, starting off as an Assistant Video Editor, and having 3 months to make an episode. Over the course of the 4 seasons I was there, things got so streamlined we got down to 1 week turnover per episodes, before eventually taking the entire sport Live.

From there as a Video Editor, I would help make and organize featured shorts that would be played throughout the Live event. Eventually, I was tasked from the highest levels of the company, to build and become the mascot for the sport of Drone Racing. Given complete trust and freedom, I created the “DRL Hype Man”. During live audience events, I donned my uniform and would energize the crowd to ensure we got the best footage.

My talent for computers and networking earned me my third hat for the company, as IT Support for the west coast office. My primary task was the safety and maintenance of our 1.9 petabyte media server, as well as all editing machines in the building.

Finally, thanks to my Hype Man role, I was invited to take part in the Social Media Team; brainstorming future content, filming reels, and eventually earning a YouTube 100,000 subscriber award. We were so very close to our 1,000,000 award when DRL, unfortunately, hit a financial hard spot and did a mass layoff at the end of 2023.

REDDOG (2019)

REDDOG was my undergrad senior thesis capstone film for Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and it had the honor of being the highest crowdfunded cinematic arts project in the history of the campus. The real life story was told to me in 2011 while in Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton. A US Marine on patrol in Afghanistan steps on a land mine and has to remain perfectly still while waiting for help to arrive. It stuck with me for years until I had the perfect opportunity to tell this story.

REDDOG went on to be accepted into several film festivals, even taking home a Best Narrative Short award.
